FERPA Compliance

Important: This document describes how Hustle/Op and its Cubby childcare module handle student education records in accordance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).

What is FERPA?

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. It applies to schools and educational programs that receive federal funding.

How Hustle/Op Handles Education Records

When you use the Cubby module for childcare or preschool management, student records including enrollment data, daily reports, health information, and family contact details are stored securely and access-controlled.

Data Access Controls

Student data is accessible only to authorized staff members at your organization. Parents and guardians can access their own children's records via the Cubby family portal. No student data is shared with third parties without explicit consent.

Data Retention and Deletion

Student records are retained for the duration of your account and for any legally required retention period. You may request deletion of specific records at any time through your administrator account.

Annual Notification

As a FERPA-compliant platform, we recommend that your institution provide annual FERPA notifications to families. Contact us for template notification language.
